Last Day of the Women’s Club SCA, this Friday was a day full of excitement at the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, where the most important handball tournament came to a close.
SUMMARY OF THE SCA CLUB HANDBALL TOURNAMENT
VILO (ARG) vs. TORRENSE (BRA)
Vilo secured the victory in the first game of the day, defeating Torrense 37-22.
Hernán Siso’s team capitalized on Torrense’s mistakes in positional offense, which allowed them to launch quick counterattacks and take the lead.
The first half ended 21-9, a lead that proved decisive in the outcome of the game. Although Torrense improved its performance in the second half, the lead Vilo had built up during the first 30 minutes was difficult to overcome.
The game’s MVP and top scorer was Valentina Molina, with eight goals.

GOES (URU) vs. FMO PORTUGUÊS (BRA)
In the fifth- and sixth-place match, Goes and FMO Português played an evenly matched first half during the opening 15 minutes.
The Brazilian team then capitalized on defensive mistakes by the Uruguayan team and extended their lead, closing out the set 15-10.
FMO Português played most of the game with a 7-man offense; in the second half, they fine-tuned their counterattack and secured the victory.
FMO Português defeated Goes 28-19; Raquel Ladeia scored 6 goals and was named the game’s MVP.

SCUOLA ITALIANA (URU) vs. INTERNACIONAL (PAR)
Internacional defeated Scuola Italiana 26–20 in the match to determine 9th and 10th place.
The team coached by Alexander Ruiz took control of the game from the very first minutes and found ways to score, building a significant lead before halftime. As a result, they went into halftime leading 15-9.
In the second half, Scuola fought back and managed to even the score, but it wasn’t enough to turn the game around.
The MVP and top scorer of the match was Fiorella Enríquez, who scored seven goals.

MARINGÁ (BRA) vs. CERRO PORTEÑO (PAR)
Maringá secured a 20-17 victory over Cerro Porteño.
The Paraguayan team got off to a better start and built a five-goal lead during the first half.
However, the Brazilian women found their rhythm as the game went on, tightened up their defense, and managed to close the gap, going into halftime down by just one point (10-9).
In the second half, Maringá maintained the momentum it had built toward the end of the first half and ultimately completed the comeback to secure the victory.
The game’s MVP was goalkeeper Isabelly Souza, who had a 43% save percentage.

LAYVA (URU) vs. JOCKEY CLUB (ARG)
In the bronze medal match, Jockey Club defeated Layva 28-19.
The game was evenly matched in the opening minutes. However, Jockey found openings and managed to break through the Uruguayan defense. They went into halftime leading 12-9.
In the second half, the team coached by Eliana Chiatti and Diego Miranda came out with a fast-paced style of play. Jockey Club emerged victorious and secured third place in the tournament.
Eugenia Mellano was named the game’s MVP, while Camila Bianco scored 8 goals.
