End of the group stage at the Nations Trophy in Lima. The semifinalists have been determined and will play this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for a spot in the final.
Summary of the Third Day
Venezuela vs. Ecuador
Venezuela and Ecuador
kicked off the day’s action. Venezuela defeated Ecuador 38-9, and with this victory , the team coached by Kirenia Quintana advanced to the semifinals.
The game’s MVP was Elainne Pacheco, who scored 8 goals; the match was officiated by the Peruvian referees Paola Lujan and Jesús Ortíz Velásquez.
Chile vs. Colombia
Chile defeated Colombia 34–12, marking the third win for Ramiro Montoya’s team; with this result, they secured a spot in the semifinals.
Francisca Parra, who scored 6 goals for the Chilean team, was named the game’s MVP. The match was officiated by Tomás Carrizo and Francisco Cistriano of Argentina.
Uruguay vs. Peru
To close out the day’s action, Uruguay defeated Peru 40-10. The Uruguayan women secured their spot in the semifinals and will face Venezuela at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday.
Peru, for its part, will play the other semifinal against Chile starting at 5:00 p.m.
The MVP was Martina Barreiro, who also scored 10 goals for La Celeste.

This competition is the first event in South America, and it will be followed by the Central American competition from September 29 to October 3.
Each championship will award two spots per subcontinent for the qualifying tournament for the Women’s Senior World Championship, which will take place in December.
This marks the start of the journey toward the 28th IHF World Championship (Germany and the Netherlands 2027) for emerging nations.
