COL WARD (ARG) vs. SCUOLA ITALIANA (URU)

Colegio Ward defeated Scuola Italiana 22-19 in the first match of the third round.

The Argentine team managed to take control of the game thanks to its solid defense, which allowed it to go into halftime with a 6-goal lead.

With their spot in the quarterfinals secured, the team coached by Alejo Smalc opted to rotate its roster more extensively, a move that allowed Scuola Italiana to stay close on the scoreboard.

However, the Argentines managed to hold onto their lead and avoid any major setbacks. Franco Carpinelli was the top scorer of the match with 7 goals, while Ian Cardozo was named the game’s MVP.

PONTEVEDRÉS (URU) vs. TRIUNFOO (PAR)

The teams that kicked off the day’s action at the Arena COP stadium played a closely contested match. The Pontevedra team was leading by one goal, but Triunfo scored a last-second goal to tie the score at 11-11.

In the second half, the game continued to be a back-and-forth affair, but Pontevedrés quickly tightened up its defense and launched precise counterattacks.

For its part, Triunfo was unable to improve its offensive play and committed several turnovers, which Pontevedrés capitalized on. Pontevedrés defeated Triunfo 28-20 in the final match of the group stage.

MVP of the game was Giovanni Capello Cardozo of the Uruguayan team.

TAUBATÉ (BRA) vs. UNIVERSITARIO (ARG)

Taubaté secured a 35-23 victory over Universitario and clinched first place in Group C.

From the start, the Brazilian team maintained control of the game and capitalized on Universitario’s turnovers and poor shooting. The first half ended 19-12 in favor of Taubaté.

In the second half, Rodrigo Barrera’s team tightened up their defense and tried to get back into the game.

However, Taubaté managed to hold onto its lead and continued to dictate the pace of the game, ultimately sealing the victory. The MVP and top scorer of the game was Kelvin Barros, who led Taubaté’s offense with an outstanding performance.

LUQUE (PAR) vs. ARGENTINOS JUNIORS (ARG)

The first half between Luque and Argentino Juniors was evenly matched; with 3 minutes remaining in the first half, Luque managed to take the lead after several turnovers by their opponent. The score at halftime was 17-16.

In the second half, Fernando Capurro’s team adopted a more offensive approach, using quick breaks to wear down their opponents physically.

Argentinos Juniors managed to maintain their lead; the Argentine team defeated Luque 35-28 and secured a spot in the quarterfinals from Group C.

Game’s MVP was Mateo Giménez, and the leading scorer was Christian Heredia, who scored 9 goals for Luque.

SAN FERNANDO (ARG) vs. VILLA ELISA (PAR)

Elio Fernández’s team took the field with an alternative lineup and managed to secure a solid 40-31 victory over Villa Elisa.

For much of the first half, both teams tried to impose their style of play in a closely contested match.
Meanwhile, San Fernando managed to pull ahead toward the end of the first half and went into halftime leading 20-14.


In extra time, the Argentine team maintained control of the match and gradually extended its lead until it secured the victory.

The star of the night was Tiago Piedrabuena, who, in addition to being named MVP of the game, finished as the top scorer with 10 goals.

DORREGO (ARG) vs. RIVER PLATE (ARG)

In Group D, Dorrego defeated River Plate 24-18 and advanced to the quarterfinals.

The first half, neither team managed to take the lead, and the score was tied at 10-10.

In the second half, Dorrego stepped up its defense, while River Plate’s passing was sloppy, leading to consecutive turnovers.

Juan Martín Bertaina’s team capitalized on River’s offensive mistakes to pull one back with a quick counterattack.

Goalkeeper Enzo Ferrando was named MVP of the game with a 33% save percentage. Meanwhile, Bautista Arrom was the top scorer with 7 goals.

FMO PORTUGUÊS (BRA vs. NACIONAL (BRA))

FMO Português and Nacional closed out the day’s action at the CEO in a matchup that would determine the leader of Group B. In the end, neither team was able to gain the upper hand, and they split the points after tying 23-23.

Nacional got off to a better start and managed to dictate the pace for much of the first half. Thanks to their team play, they built a lead that allowed them to go into halftime up 16-11.

In stoppage time, FMO Português began to find its footing in the match thanks to an increasingly intense defense that disrupted Nacional’s attacks, managing to tie the game and remain undefeated in the tournament.

The MVP was Rangel Da Rosa, Nacional’s goalkeeper, who had an outstanding performance in goal and finished the match with 13 saves.

PINHEIROS (BRA) vs. SAGV BALLESTER (ARG)

In the final match of the day to wrap up the group stage at the Arena COP stadium, PInheiros defeated SAGV Ballester 28-20.

During the first period, the Brazilians managed to break through Ballester’s defense and find open spaces, closing out the period with an 11-9 lead.

In overtime, Pinheiros gThanks to their teamwork, they managed to extend their lead. Gonzalo Guerra had a standout performance in goal, with a 39% save percentage.

With this result, the Brazilians secured their spot in the quarterfinals from Group A. The game’s MVP was Philipp Seifert, who scored 7 goals.
