Chile lost to Slovenia in their second match of the Women’s Junior World Championship. On the third day of the tournament, Argentina and Brazil had their rest day.
Chilean defeat
The Chilean team arrived at the Dvorana Golovec Celje arena to face Slovenia in their second match of the preliminary round.
They needed to beat the home side to have any chance of qualifying for the Main Round, having lost their opening match against Germany.
Unfortunately, Slovenia were far superior throughout the 60 minutes and ran out 29-13 winners.
As a result, Chile are now out of contention for the next round and will play their final group match against Mexico tomorrow.
Like Chile, Argentina and Brazil will also play their final group matches tomorrow, and the Albicelestes still harbour hopes of advancing to the Main Round.
