Brazil wins the South Central American Tournament in Asunción!, defeating Argentina 30-27 to claim first place in the competition.
The team coached by Cristiano Fripp was crowned champion of the boys’ Under-14 division; Brazil won all five of its matches.
A closely contested first half ended with the score tied at 13-13. In the second half, Argentina got off to a better start and managed to extend its lead to three goals, but the Brazilian offense quickly found its rhythm and tied the game again.
In the final minutes, Brazil capitalized on its opponent’s turnovers and sealed the victory with a 30-27 score to claim the gold medal.
The game’s MVP was Guilherme Rezende, while the top scorer was Augusto Dirr of Argentina.

Chile and Paraguay A faced off for third and fourth place in the standings; the first half ended with a 14-14 tie.
In the second half, Chile managed to improve its offense and extend its lead, sealing a 31-27 victory over Paraguay A.
Alfonso González was named MVP, and Nicolás Espinoza was the top scorer of the match with 10 goals.

In the match for fifth and sixth place, Uruguay faced Paraguay B; Uruguay came away with a 29-19 victory, finishing the tournament in fifth place.
The MVP was Santino Salvatti, and the top scorer of the match was Emiliano Bottini with 9 goals.
