The present of Jockey Club Córdoba. The senior women’s team is preparing for a new edition of the SCA Club Tournament to be held from June 15 to 19 in Asunción.
Las Hípicas are one of the strongest and most competitive teams in the province of Córdoba, Argentina.
They compete in the Women’s Honor League of the Cordoba Handball Federation. With permanent participation in national tournaments.
Highlights of achievements
In terms of local competitions, Jockey Club is the champion of the Annual Tournament of Córdoba (Honor League) on multiple occasions, having won 18 consecutive titles up to 2025 since the old 2015 closing tournament.
In addition, they won the title in the women’s Super 8 of the Copa Córdoba 2024.
At the national level they were consecrated Champion of the National Clubs “A” 2016, they also obtained 3rd place of the National in 2017 and are the current runners-up of the National Clubs “A” 2025.
Meanwhile, at the international level they achieved 3rd place in the Pan American Club Championship in 2017.
Character and perseverance
Their determination and drive to remain among the elite of Argentine handball has positioned the senior team as one of the best in the interior of Argentina, competing on an equal footing with the main clubs of Buenos Aires.
The senior team has always been characterized for having a solid structure, which includes minis, minors, cadets, youths and juniors.
A Club that started its bases in another institution and that for various reasons had to make the decision to give continuity to the project elsewhere, in 2017 the path continued in the facilities of Jockey Club Córdoba.
Historic Chiatti
Eliana Chiatti is the coach of Jockey Club, one of the main responsible for the team’s playing identity. Chiatti has been with Sociedad Unión Eléctrica since its beginnings (1997).
Currently, he forms a duo with Diego Miranda, who arrived 4 years ago. At the beginning, Miranda had his period in the formative categories and then went on to coach together with Eliana Chiatti.
“For our team to participate in this competition is an honor and a responsibility. We seek to raise our capabilities and our performance to cope with the tournament,” says Eliana.says Eliana.
He adds: “Jockey is a competent team, which permanently seeks to keep growing. We are going to meet the best teams in the continent and that makes us stronger. It is a great joy for us to be part of this competition”.
What does Jockey Club mean to Eliana Chitti?
The club is beautiful. It is an elite institution where we find permanent support, accompaniment and containment. I am very happy to belong and to be part of the sports project that will undoubtedly grow in giant steps with the new field.
A few months ago they inaugurated their own stadium, a covered court located within the facilities of the Jockey Club Córdoba.
Growing duo
“The truth is that it is very easy to work with Eliana,” said coach Diego Miranda.said coach Diego Miranda. “She is a very experienced person, very open, humble, they give you room”.
Both coaches trained in European schools. Chiatti trained in Germany, while Miranda in Spain. With different methods but with a lot of capacity, they have been able to merge and lead the coaching staff.
This 2026 Jockey Club will be present in a new edition of the SCA Club Tournament, the coaching duo agrees that the goal is always the same: “First we want to get into the top four and then go in search of the podium”.said Miranda.

Outstanding players were and are part of the Jockey team, a Club that bets from the grassroots and that since 2024 has added the men’s team.
Lucia Haro is an emblematic player of Jockey Club, she was one of the stars of the Argentine national team. “Lula” as she was called on the field, was a member of “La Garra” during the period 2004-2016 and was part of the national team that participated in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Another player who, after having played for Argentina in the youth teams, was recently called up for a tour with the senior national team, Valentina Stanich.
