The action continues in the Men’s Handball Tournament at the South American Games. Chile, Brazil, and Argentina were the winners on the third day.
The handball festivities are taking place at the Invencible Santa Fe Stadium, where the local crowd cheered on the teams during all three matches.
Day 3 Recap
Chile vs Uruguay
Chile defeated Uruguay 36-22 in commanding fashion and is now aiming for a spot in the Pan American Games. In the first half, Aitor Echaburu’s team led the scoreboard, closing out the half with a 17-12 lead.

In the second half, Chile extended its lead by launching quick counterattacks and capitalizing on defensive mistakes by the Uruguayan team.
The top scorers of the match were Benjamín Illesca and Erwin Feutchman, with 7 goals each. Meanwhile, for Uruguay, Bruno Mendez and Cristhian Rostagno each scored 5 goals.
Paraguay vs. Brazil
The second match of the day was played in the afternoon, with Brazil securing a 26-21 victory over Paraguay.
It was a closely contested first half with solid defenses, as the teams traded goals throughout the 30 minutes; the score was tied at 12-12 at halftime.

In the second half, Brazil came out with a more precise offense, capitalizing on their opponent’s turnovers.
However, the Paraguayans fought hard until the end, blocking the Brazilian attack, with goalkeepers Matías Chávez and Robert Paredes playing a key role.
Brazil came away with the victory; Washginton Santos was the game’s top scorer with 6 goals for Brazil.
Argentina vs. Peru
The Invencible stadium was packed with fans eager to see the Gladiators in the last game of the day. Argentina beat Peru 41-11
During the first half, the home team played a fast-paced offensive game, while the Peruvians struggled to keep up with their opponents; plagued by forced errors, they went into halftime trailing 18-6.

In extra time, Peru scored only xx goals, while Argentina rotated players to widen the goal differential.
Players Juan Saco and Lionel Moyano were the top scorers with 8 goals each, followed by Nicolás Rodríguez, who scored 7.
This Friday, September 25, starting at 2:30 p.m., the fourth round kicks off with Peru vs. Paraguay, followed by Chile vs. Brazil at 5:00 p.m., and finally Uruguay vs. Argentina.
