Day 3 of the South American Games, Santa Fe 2026

Day 3 of the South American Games, Santa Fe 2026. It was a day filled with thrilling matches and plenty of goals, outstanding performances, and enthusiastic support from the crowd.

The standout teams at the Invencible tournament in Santa Fe were Chile, Paraguay, and Argentina, all of which secured important victories.

Summary of the Third Day

CHILE VS. PERU

In the first game, Chile defeated Peru 35–12; the Chilean women played a highly effective game and took control of the score.

The team coached by Ramiro Montoya went into halftime with a 17-6 lead. In the second half, Chile maintained its pace and gradually extended its lead to secure the victory.

Amanda Riquelme was Chile’s leading scorer with 10 goals. For Peru, Camila Delgado was the leading scorer with 3 goals.

PARAGUAY VS. COLOMBIA

Paraguay defeated Colombia 40-15 and secured its third victory. The team had a somewhat difficult start to the game but quickly managed to turn the score around and take control,witha18-6run in favor of the Paraguayans.

In the second half, Colombia tried to mount a comeback and managed to score nine goals in the first 15 minutes.

In the final stretch, the Paraguayan team extended their lead once again to secure another victory. Jessica Fleitas was the top scorer with 9 goals, while Susana Estrada stood out for Colombia with 4 goals.

ARGENTINA VS. URUGUAY

Argentina defeated Uruguay 26-21 and has its sights set on first place. In the first half, the Albiceleste started the game with a solid defense, which allowed them to recover possession and take a slight lead.

The Uruguayan team managed to stay close for much of the first half, but the score at halftime was 14-10 in favor of Argentina.

In extra time, Uruguay rallied and managed to cut the deficit to one goal, but Argentina once again found a way to respond on offense, regaining control and securing the victory.

Paula Eastman was Uruguay’s leading scorer with 6 goals, while Carolina Bono led the Argentine offense with 5 goals.

Goalkeeper Candelaria Cuadrado was instrumental for Argentina, making 12 saves on 33 shots and posting a save percentage of 36%.

Matchday 4 will take place this Saturday. Colombia vs. Chile kicks off at 2:30 p.m., followed by Uruguay vs. Paraguay at 5:00 p.m., and the third day wraps up with Argentina vs. Peru at 7:30 p.m.
