Chile finished fourth, Brazil fifth at the Wheelchair Handball World Championship held in Granollers. The competition concluded this Sunday, with Spain taking the title.
The South American teams put in an outstanding performance in the championship, which ended with Spain taking first place, Japan second, and Portugal third.

During the preliminary round, Brazil earned two victories: 2-0 against Portugal (11-7, 12-6) and 2-0 against India (12-4, 14-2).
Meanwhile, the Chilean team earned two victories, first defeating Egypt 1-2 (8-7, 7-9, 2-5) and then beating Lithuania 2-0 (10-3, 4-3).
In the quarterfinals, Brazil lost 1-2 to Spain (7-9, 8-3, and 2-3), and in the placement match, they defeated the United States 2-0 (7-5, 13-3), which allowed them to compete for fifth and sixth place.
Chile, for its part, defeated the United States 2-0 (8-0, 13-5) in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinals, where it faced the powerful Spanish team.
Chile lost 2-0 (7-6, 7-6) to Spain.
The final match
This Sunday marked the last day of the tournament; the Brazilian national team defeated Egypt 2-0 (7-9, 2-13). With this result, the Brazilians finished in fifth place.

Meanwhile, Chile lost the bronze-medal match; the team coached by William Menezes faced Portugal and lost 2-1 (7-5, 11-12, and 6-2), finishing in fourth place.
