First day of in Asunción for the SCA U-13 and U-14 Handball Tournament, which runs through August 1, concluded at the CEO Stadium and the COP Arena.
The participating teams played a thrilling day of games at the Olympic Training Center and the COP Arena.
Cancha CEO
At 3:00 p.m., Brazil faced Paraguay’s men’s B team. The Brazilians secured the victory with a 48-13 rout.
Luccas Santos was the top scorer of the match with 8 goals and was also named the game’s MVP.

In the women’s division, Brazil also emerged victorious; the team coached by Bruno Camargo defeated Chile 22-17.
The game’s MVP was Brazil’s Kamilly Nere, who also scored 6 goals—the same number as her teammate María Binatti.

To wrap things up, Chile faced off against Uruguay in the men’s division. In a thrilling match, the Chileans came away with the victory, 25-20.
The game’s MVP was Chile’s captain, Nicolás Espinoza, who also scored 5 goals, as did Lucio Carrasco Fleitas of Uruguay.

COP Arena
The women’s match between Argentina and Uruguay kicked off the day’s games at the COP Arena. The Argentine team defeated the Uruguayan team 14–12.
MVP was Constanza Azaldegui of the Albiceleste. The game’s top scorer was Candela Pérez with 8 goals.

In the second game, the Paraguay A men’s team earned a valuable 27-27 tie against Argentina. It was a thrilling match in which neither team managed to pull ahead.
Bautista Salazar of Argentina was named the game’s MVP and was also the top scorer with 6 goals.

In the final match, Paraguay A faced off against Paraguay B in the women’s division, with Team A, coached by Wilson Alfonso, emerging victorious 30-23.
Kiara Franco was the top scorer of the game with 8 goals; she was also named MVP of the match.

It is worth noting that in the 2025 tournament, Paraguay A took first place in the women’s division, with Argentina in second place and Brazil in third.
Meanwhile, in the men’s division, the Argentine national team was crowned champion, Brazil took second place, and Chile finished third.
