Pinheiros Wins the SCA Club Championship! Esporte Clube Pinheiros was crowned champion of the Handball Libertadores after defeating Nacional 29-27 in a high-level final played at the COP Arena.

In the first half, Nacional came out determined to clinch the title. The team coached by Francisco Monteiro controlled the offense better in the opening minutes and even built a five-goal lead.

However, as time went on, Pinheiros adjusted its defense and managed to tie the score with five minutes left before halftime. Even so, Nacional managed to go into halftime with a 14–13 lead.

In the second half, Nacional once again got off to a better start and regained a slight lead, although goalkeeper Gonzalo Guerra’s saves kept the Brazilian team in the game.

Seventeen minutes into the second half, Pinheiros took the lead for the first time in the game, and from there it was a back-and-forth affair.

In a thrilling finish, Nacional had one last chance to tie the game, but Guerra responded with a great save. On the counterattack, Pinheiros sealed the victory at 29-27 and claimed the title.

The standout player of the night was Pinheiros goalkeeper Gonzalo Guerra, while the top scorer of the match was Álvaro Araujo of Nacional, with 11 goals.
