Uruguay and Chile advance in search of qualification to the World Cup in Croatia. In the second day of the SCA Beach Handball Tournament, both teams managed to beat the Peruvian team.
Uruguay beat the local team 2-0 and in the afternoon Chile did the same and defeated the Peruvian team 2-0 in the tournament held at Punta Rocas beach in the district of Punta Negra.
Peru vs Uruguay
A very well played first set for the Uruguayans, without errors and with an excellent offensive approach. The result was in favor of the Uruguayans 4:18.
In the second set, Uruguay took advantage of the spaces in the defense of the team coached by Alexander Diaz and in this way extended the advantage in the scoreboard.
Peru had to win to stay on the road to qualification but it was not enough and Uruguay won 6:26.
The MVP of the match was Cecilia Pedetti of the Celeste national team who won for the second time.

Chile vs Peru
In the afternoon, Chile faced the Peruvian team. With an outstanding blocking job they prevented Peru from scoring and took the first set 16-8.
A collective and organized game approach of the team coached by Sebastián Aravena that suffered the Peruvian attack in the second set.
Peru managed to be up on the scoreboard for a few minutes, the Chileans were able to recover their offense and ended up winning the second set by a minimal difference 18:17.
The player Mariana Santa Maria of Chile was elected the MVP of the match.With this result, Chile scored 2 points and this Friday will define the World Cup ticket against the Uruguayans.

Matches for this Friday
From 10:00 local time, Uruguay will face Peru and then from 15:00 Uruguay vs. Chile will define the ticket to Croatia.

It should be recalled that this Beach Handball SCA Women’s Phase 2 grants a place to the World Championship to be held at Lake Jarun in Zagreb, Croatia from June 23 to 28, 2026. Argentina and Brazil have already qualified.
