Paraguay A lost to Brazil in the SCA U16 Men’s Handball Championship. In the closing of day 3, Paraguay A overcame Brazil 29 to 19.
The Verdeamarelos thus remain undefeated in the tournament, while the home team suffered its second defeat.
With a great goal by Eduardo Rodrigues, Brazil opened the scoring. But Paraguay quickly got back into the game, showing that they would not make things easy for the Brazilians.
Both defenses were very solid, with a very important physical work. Brazil did not allow Paraguay to play with its center and constantly sought to generate the error of its rival to be able to go on the counterattack.
On the Guarani side, they played a flat 6-0 defense, with no outlets, which allowed the green and yellow team to play with their 9-meter shots.
Although Brazil managed their attacks better, getting the space to shoot, on several occasions, they came up against goalkeeper Pablo Babak; who with his saves kept his team in the match.
Towards the end of the first half, the green and yellow team was able to break the deadlock in the scoreboard and go to the break beating the locals by 15 to 12.
Second half
Defensive intensity continued by both teams. However, Paraguay A had turnovers and several mistakes in their offense, allowing Brazil to score a 4-0 lead.
The team led by Cristiano Fripp put up a 5-1 defense that made the Guarani attack even more uncomfortable. In addition, the shots on the posts of the locals and the saves of Mateus Williams, prevented them from reducing the score.
Last part of the match Paraguay could not manage their attack correctly and due to bad passes they quickly lost the ball. In this way, Brazil achieved a 5 to 0 partial that allowed them to extend the difference and win the match by 29 to 19.
