Women’s World Cup U20 the 25th edition of the will be held from June 24 to July 5, 2026, in the People’s Republic of China.
There will be 32 teams; the preliminary round will consist of eight groups of four teams each, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the main round.

Groups
: China was drawn into Group E. The Asian champions are aiming to reach the main round, just as they did two years ago at the 2024 IHF Women’s Youth World Championship, where they finished 15th in the final standings.
Defending champion France will play in Group A alongside Egypt, Sweden, and India, while European champion Germany has been drawn into Group C, alongside Romania, Brazil and Canada.
Meanwhile, 2024 IHF Women’s Youth World Championship 2024 champions Spain will be back in the hunt for a medal, after taking silver at the 2025 EHF Women’s Under-19 European Championship, and will face mixed style teams in Group D, alongside South Korea, Argentina and Turkey.
In Group B, Austria and Serbia will face Angola and Paraguay. Group features Croatia, Japan, Norway, and a team yet to be determined following Australia’s withdrawal.
In Group F: Montenegro, Czech Republic, Iceland and the United States. In addition, Hungary, one of the medal favorites, is in Group G with Poland, Chinese Taipei and Tunisia.
Venues
The competition will take place from June 24 to July 5, 2026, at four stadiums in Jinzhong: Jinzhong Municipal Gymnasium, Jinzhong Vocational and Technical College Gymnasium, Shanxi Medical University Zhongdu Campus Gymnasium, and Jinzhong University Gymnasium.
Tournament Format
The top two teams from each group will advance to the main round, while the other two will compete in the President’s Cup. The top two teams from each group in the main round will qualify for the quarterfinals.
