Women’s Handball Camp in Santiago de Chile

Women’s Handball Camp in Santiago de Chile. From June 1 to 7, the first Handball Camp will take place.

The camp is organized by COSCABAL in partnership with Panam Sports the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the Chilean Olympic Committee.

Five countries, 15 coaches and more than 50 athletes are participating in this camp that seeks to train and improve the development of coaches and athletes.

Growth and development

The Women’s Handball Camp will be attended by players and coaches from Nicaragua, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru and Chile.

The online training was the previous training that the participating technicians underwent, now with classroom mode there will be instances of theory and practice.

Will be in charge of the camp, Eduardo “Dady” Gallardo from Argentina belonging to the IHF, in addition: Leonardo Puñales from Uruguay, Priscilla Alvarez from Argentina and Aitor Etxaburu from Chile, all of them from COSCABAL.

The agenda covers:

  • The development of individual defensive technique and tactics for flexible defenders.
  • Work in small groups on defense and construction of flexible 6.0 defense and structure of counterattack and counter-attack.
  • Development of individual offensive technique and tactics, training of intelligent players.

Participants

The participating technicians are Ricardo Ernesto Taleno Castillo and Manuel Antonio Gómez García from Nicaragua; Katerine Ricaldi and Martín Chilaca from Bolivia; Marizza Faria and Wilson Alfonso from Paraguay.

Also, Jhonnatan Ibarra and Reynaldo Guzman from Peru. From Chile: Ramiro Montoya, Fabián Caamaño Santander, Sebastián Espoz Lazo, María José Letelier Álvarez, Damián Chinchón Miranda, Tomás González Núñez, and Antonella Pascualetti Reyes.

The importance of the campus

The camp will be held at the National Stadium Park in Santiago, Chile, and will conclude with a round-robin competition on June 7.

Gallardo stated that the Campus aims to generate a space for training, exchange and development for coaches and players in the region.

The aim is to promote experiences that contribute to the growth and strengthening of South and Central American handball.
