The action continues in the Women’s Club SCA

The action continues in the Women’s Club SCA; through June 19 in Asunción, the continent’s top teams will compete for the championship title.

On the second day of competition in the SCA Women’s Club Tournament, Maringá defeated Vilo, Scuola Italia and Goes tied, Cerro Porteño beat Torrense, and in the final match, FMO Português defeated Internacional.

Vilo (ARG) vs. Maringá (BRA)

The first match of the day ended in a victory for the Brazilian team; Maringá defeated Vilo 21-18 and earned two points in Group A.

Maringá capitalized on Vilo’s defensive mistakes to score and head into halftime with an 11-6 lead.

In the second half, Municipalidad de Vicente López stepped up its offense, but it wasn’t enough, and so the Brazilian team came away with the victory.

The game’s MVP was Maringá’s goalkeeper, Anna Da Silva. Meanwhile, the top scorer of the match was Gabriela Da Silva with 7 goals.

Scuola Italiana (URU) vs. Goes (URU)

The match between the Uruguayan teams ended in an 18-18 tie between Scuola Italiana and Goes. Neither team was able to pull ahead during the game.

With this result, Goes leads the Group B standings with two points. The game’s MVP was goalkeeper Noelia Artigas of Scuola Italiana.

Meanwhile, Martina Barreiro and Sabrina Grieco, both from Goes, each scored 5 goals.

Torrense (BRA) vs. Cerro Porteño (PAR)

The Paraguayan team Cerro Porteño demonstrated its superiority from start to finish in the match against Torrense of Brazil.

In the first half, Cerro Porteño went on an 11-7 run, and in the second half, the team coached by Ramiro Jorgge Legal extended their lead. Cerro Porteño won 16-23

The MVP was Alejandra Velásquez of Cerro Porteño. Milagros Samaniego scored 7 goals.

FMO / Português (BRA) vs. Internacional (PAR)

Cristiano Rocha’s team was far superior in the final match of the day.

FMO / Português defeated Internacional 39-9 in a commanding victory. Eduarda Borges was named MVP, and Raquel Ladeia was the top scorer with 9 goals.
