As part of the penultimate day of the SCA Senior Women’s Club Handball Championship, Sedalo and Jockey Club faced each other in an evenly matched Argentine duel for the qualification phase. The victory over Scuola Italiana in the morning allowed the Cordoba team to remain alive in the South Central and to face Sedalo to define the teams that will compete for the fifth and seventh places. The Argentine duel ended 26-18 in favor of Sedalo.
A foul on Ursula Schroder allowed the Cordobesas to open the scoring from 7 meters. But the saves of goalkeeper Candelaria Cuadrado and the solid defense of Fernando Raul Garcia’s team quickly gave them a slight advantage. The first half ended 12-6 in favor of Sedalo.
In the second half, Sedalo’s defense was impenetrable, blocking Jockey’s offensive attempts and recovering the ball on several occasions. In this way, they were stretching their lead on the scoreboard. Despite the efforts of the team led by coach Eliana Chiatti, they were unable to close the gap and ended up losing 26-18 to Sedalo. The MVP of the game was Manuela Pizzo.
With this result, Sedalo will face Ferro Carril Oeste for the fifth place, while Jockey Club will face Goes for the seventh place of the South Central Clubs.
