Pinheiros reached the final of the SCA Handball Clubs’ Championship

Pinheiros (Brazil) and Ovalle (Chile) faced each other for a place in the final of the SCA Senior Women’s Club Handball Championship. The Brazilian team, led by Mauricio Antonucci, defeated Ovalle with authority 41-18 and will repeat the final played in the last edition against River Plate.

Esporte Clube Pinheiros started the first half with a 4-0 lead and stretched the Chilean side’s lead to 6 minutes. Ovalle suffered the onslaught of the rival and could not close the spaces in its defense to maintain parity on the scoreboard. Pinheiros stretched the goal difference despite losing two of its players and managed to close the first half 19-10.

In the final 30 minutes, the Brazilians did not lower the intensity of their attack, with an impenetrable defense and effective shooting, they were able to demonstrate that they are the current champions and that they are going for the championship for the third time. The game ended 41-18 in favor of Pinheiros and they will play the final against River Plate, just as in the 2022 edition the teams from Brazil and Argentina will meet again.

The MVP of the game was Tayna Krause of Pinherios.
