The final of the South Central American U-20 women’s handball championship was lived with great intensity in Asunción, Paraguay, in a scenario charged with emotion and sportsmanship.
Two continental handball powers, Argentina and Brazil, faced each other in a duel that reflected the growth of their national teams.
From the start, the match showed a high technical and physical level. Both teams showed preparation, character and a strong game identity, with solid defenses, dynamic attacks and decisive goalkeepers.
Each ball was played as if it were the last, making clear the importance of winning the gold medal and being at the top of the podium.
In the last edition held in Buenos Aires 2023, Argentina was crowned, but this time the Brazilian power was superior and won 20-18.
Beyond the result, the match was hard fought until the final minutes, and goalkeepers Lola Nuñez of Argentina and Sophia Kieling of Brazil had an outstanding performance.
The top scorer was Raquel Ladeia with 6 goals. Brazil was crowned champion and qualified for the world championship of the category.
The support of the crowd completed an unforgettable setting for a final of this level. Asunción witnessed a historic day for U20 women’s handball.
