Brazil and Argentina qualified for the 2027 World Cup

Brazil and Argentina qualified for the 2027 World Cup. On the third day of the SCA Senior Handball Tournament, they won their third victory and secured their ticket to the World Cup.

On day 3 Brazil beat Chile 33-25, Paraguay beat Peru 45-30 and Argentina defeated Uruguay 35-18.

Brazil vs Chile

Marcus Tata de Oliveira’s team came from a 33-25 win over Uruguay, a game that cost them in the first half, but in the second half Brazil managed to stretch the advantage.

This Wednesday was the turn against Chile, the first minutes of the game Brazil sought to take off on the scoreboard with quick starts, suffered the exclusion of 2 minutes Thiagus Petrus and Bryan Monte which caused the stalking of the trans-Andeans.

The team coached by Aitor Echaburu found it difficult to penetrate the Green and Yellow defense, despite an outstanding performance by goalkeeper Felipe García Fuentes. They closed a partial 16-10 in favor of Brazil.

In the second half, the Brazilians put up a solid defense and more effective offense, and in a few minutes managed to stretch their lead and close the third consecutive victory 33-25 in the SCA Senior tournament.

Erwin Feutchamann was the game’s top scorer with 6 goals, while for Brazil players Bryan Monte and Rudolph Hackbarth scored 5 goals each.

The MVP of the match was Edney Silva de Oliveira. With this result Brazil achieved its first goal, its ticket to the World Cup.

Paraguay vs Peru

The locals had suffered a tough defeat against Argentina 15-45, and needed to regain confidence and win a victory to stay in the fight for a ticket to the World Cup.

Paraguay beat Peru 45-30 and dreams of qualifying to the World Cup. The match against Uruguay this Friday at 8:30 p.m. will be key to define one of the available places.

Jordan Araya of Peru was the top scorer with 12 goals scored. Carlos Samaniego was the MVP of the match.

Argentina vs Uruguay

The Gladiators overcame Uruguay in the last match of the day. The team coached by Rodolfo Jung closed the first half 16-10 in favor. The sky-blue team suffered a blue card that left them without Joaquín Tapia.

In the second half, Argentina was able to gain space on the counterattack and penetrate the Charrúa defense, with quick starts.

The Albiceleste won 35-18, sealed 3 consecutive victories and secured their ticket to the World Cup. The player Nicolás Bono was elected MVP of the match. In addition, together with Ramiro Martinez scored 6 goals each.

This Thursday there will be a free day for all the teams, on Friday the competition continues from 3.30 p.m. at the SND Arena. The first to take the field will be Brazil vs Peru, at 18.00 Argentina vs Chile and Paraguay vs Uruguay will close the day.
