Argentina finished 22nd in the Women’s World Cup. “La Garra” lived a World Cup full of effort, courage and growth.

“La Garra” fought to the end in the closing stages of the championship with a decisive goal by Giuliana Gavilán after a millimetric assist by Elke Karsten, who had been the team’s top scorer in the tournament with 35 goals.

Thanks to this victory, Argentina ended its participation with two wins, against Egypt and Tunisia, and four losses, placing 22nd overall.

Still and Conclusions

Argentina showed personality, good defensive character, ability to react, had passages of great level in matches that escaped them in the second half (Austria and Poland)
