The 2025 edition of the Referee and Technical Delegates Camp will be held in Asunción, Paraguay from September 16 to 28.
Thedy Adjemian, Chief Referee of COSCABAL, together with a great work team will lead the training aimed at strengthening referees and referents in the region.
The SCA Handball championships for U13, 14, 15 and 16 teams will be the stage for the development of the 2025 edition of the Camp.
In search of a replacement
The main objective of the Camp for referees and technical delegates is to meet young people who will be part of the generational replacement.
Regarding the election of the duos and delegates that will participate Thedy Adjemian, Chief Referee of COSCABAL, remarked: “It is a joint work with the chief referees of each country, they are the ones who have proposed the refereeing duos and delegates.”
In addition, he commented that most of them will have their first experience in continental events. “The Camp provides them with training that allows them to see how work is done on an international and continental level.”
Within the proposed schedule, a wide range of training is provided from technical, attitudinal and management aspects, as well as everything related to the preparation of a referee according to IHF regulations.
“In terms of physical aspects, we will evaluate how they are prepared and we will also emphasize the importance of the English language for the referees we detect with international projection; and the delegates will be evaluated on their technical, theoretical and management knowledge. and the delegates will be evaluated on their technical, theoretical and management knowledge”.
“It is important that they gain experience in national team tournaments. Based on what we see and the analysis with each couple, we will keep those we consider suitable to join the COSCABAL staff as regional referees”.

Meanwhile, the COSCABAL PRC Officers are: Thedy Adjemian and Luciano Zabala from Argentina; Esilo de Melo from Brazil and as COSCABAL delegate Marcelo Moraga from Chile.
They will also have the figure of the Referee Support: Germán Araujo from Uruguay.
