Colegio Ward remains undefeated in the SCA Club Handball. In group 3 of the SCA they beat Liceo Nacional de Maipú 28-21.
First half
An even first half saw the Chilean representatives dominate the pace of the game, being more effective in attack and taking a slight lead on the scoreboard.
At the end of the first half, the great performance of Chilean goalkeeper Damián Chinchón, who made a total of 10 saves, prevented the Argentine team from getting closer on the scoreboard, and they went to the break 14-11 in favor of Maipú.
Second half
In the second half, Ward College needed to improve their effectiveness on offense as they missed 18 shots in the first half.
Rodolfo Jung’s team managed to tie the game in the first five minutes. And not only that, after the equalizer they began to dominate the game.
They had a series of ball steals and little by little unbalanced the Chilean defense, reaching a difference of 6 goals in their favor.
The game ended 21-28 in favor of Ward College. The MVP of the game was Juan Bautista of Ward College.

“We are happy with the result and we are getting rid of the nerves of the first games, tomorrow we have the most complicated match.
Today we started off weak, we made a lot of mistakes, but in the second half we came out with more confidence and managed to get the ball in, which was what we lacked in the first half”.
Damián Chinchón, player of Liceo Nacional Maipú:
“It’s our first opportunity in this type of competition, so we came to gain experience and be able to pass it on in Chile. Unfortunately we didn’t get the result, but we will give our all in the matches.”
