The International Handball Federation, IHF and the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee confirmed the match times for the preliminary rounds at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
After the conclusion of the men’s and women’s qualifying tournaments and the group draws, the match schedule was established in both branches.
Six matches will be played per day at the Arena 6 South in Paris, between July 25 and August 4, with the sole exception of July 26, the day of the official opening ceremony of Paris 2024, which will take place at the Seine river.
The women’s competition will be the first to begin on Thursday, July 25, the featured match will be France, current Olympic champion and current world champion, against Hungary.
The men’s competition will begin on July 27, one of the featured matches will be when the last two Olympic finals and the 2023 IHF Men’s World Championship final meet, Denmark vs France.
The preliminary round of the women’s competition will end on August 3, while the preliminary round of the men’s competition will end on August 4. After a day of rest, the teams will face each other in the knockout phase, which will be held at the Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille. The medal matches are scheduled for August 10 in the women’s competition and August 11 in the men’s competition.
