The Brazilian women’s team beat Uruguay and remains undefeated

The women’s teams of Brazil and Uruguay played the second match of day two of the South Central American Beach Handball Tournament, held in Asunción, Paraguay. It was an even match, full of flight and saves, the Verdeamarela achieved its second 2-0 victory and remains undefeated so far in the championship.

From the start the game was even, Uruguay maintained a focused defense to stop the Brazilians’ shots, who did not give up their fast pace of play. The Uruguayan team gradually equalized the score, becoming only two goals behind, but the effective Brazilian defense prevented Uruguay from tying in the last seconds, taking the first set 19-16.

During much of the second half, the Uruguayans remained within 4 goals on the scoreboard, but despite their efforts, they were unable to reduce the difference, and through the scoring contributions of Marianne Guimaraes (15), Beatriz Correia (14) and Beatriz Spnena (8) finished the set 23-16 in favor of Brazil.
