The Argentine adult women’s team played the pre-Olympic tournament in the city of Torrevieja, Spain. Those led by Eduardo Gallardo did not achieve the long-awaited qualification for what would be their second participation in an Olympic Games.
La Garra lost to the Netherlands 22-34, then it was their turn to face the locals, where Argentina had a great performance for almost the entire match. Spain took the victory 26-23.
In the final, the Czech Republic beat the Argentines 41-33. With these results, Argentina was left out of the next Paris 2024 Olympic Games and also lost its coach. Gallardo had already announced that if he achieved the goal he would stop being the coach of the Albiceleste team.
