With the aim of systematizing and ordering referee training in Chile and the region, the National Institute of Football, Sports and Physical Activity (INAF) and the Chilean Handball Federation joined in an alliance to create the first National Handball Referee School.
The course, which is carried out online, is approved by the National Arbitration Commission of the Federation, the entity that is in charge of the technical criteria, evaluations and graduations of the 35 participants of the School, who will be certified at the end of the course.
Natalia Roldán, academic coordinator of the Sports and Physical Activity Trainer program at INAF, highlights the alliance – of which they are pioneers – and believes that this course “will favor the projection of referees to the international field in a progressive way; first, at the South American level and later at the Pan-American, world and Olympic level”.
With the completion of this initiative, it is expected to promote the development of handball in Chile and throughout the South-Central region.
