Argentina and Chile won their matches and continue dreaming of qualifying for the 2023 World Cup

La Garra and Las Lobas defeated Paraguay and Uruguay respectively and achieved their second victory in the South-Central Adult Women’s tournament that takes place at Parque Roca in Buenos Aires.

In the first round of the day, the Chilean National Team overcame a 5-0 deficit in the first half against their Uruguayan counterpart.

The Chilean cast was building the victory until the final seconds of the game with an electrifying definition to seal the result of 24 to 23.

After the historic triumph, coach Felipe Barrientos was very emotional and declared:

“Very happy for the players since it is a step forward for Chilean handball because it had never happened before against Uruguay and in the first instance against Paraguay.”

Argentina also celebrated

At the close of the third date, the white and blue team made the difference in the match and achieved their second victory in the competition, this time against Paraguay by 25-17.

Those led by Eduardo Gallardo became strong in defense with good performances by Antonela Mena and goalkeeper Ayelen Rosalez, who made more than 50% of the saves, while in attack the player in the match was Micaela Casasola< /strong>.

The negative for the Argentines was the injury to Luciana Mendoza, who had to leave the match due to instability in her left knee and specific studies were carried out to have greater precision.

Both victories serve as a prelude to what will be tonight’s duel between Argentina and Chile starting at 8:00 pm at Parque Roca (Oceania Pavilion). The winner secures a ticket to the Handball World Cup to be held next year in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
