Buenos Aires 2022: a complete party for handball

Between March 22 and 26, the city of Buenos Aires will host the South-Centro Junior Women and the South-Centro Youth Women and Men Beach Handball, tournaments that are qualifiers for their respective world championships.

However, that is not all for the growth of the sport in the region. Simultaneously with the development of the championships, the GRTP-II Course will be taught, an instance that seeks to give the highest IHF refereeing category to the 5 refereeing couples from different countries in the region: the sisters Bruna and Renata Correa from Brazil, Santiago Correa and Agustín Conberse from Argentina, Nicolás Perdomo and Germán Araujo from Uruguay, Félix Gabriel Pineda and Félix Estrada from Colombia along with Brazilians Fernando Gerardello and Zaine Marques.

The graduation course will be led by Per Morten Sodal, Chairman of the IHF PRC (Playing and Rules Commission), together with Thedy Adjemnian, head of referees at CoSCABal, as a representative of the Confederation.

During the inauguration of the course, the general manager of CoSCABal, Claudio Bluck, thanked the Argentine Handball Confederation (CAH),  “thank you for the effort to offer the highest standards and logistical conditions that allow the successful development of the courses and the championships”, and to the International Handball Federation for “the support and permanent support for the refereeing development of our continent”.

That’s on the indoor side, and in beach handball the COoSCABal Graduation Course is available online. This course, which is for both referees and referees, is led by Luiz Filipe Caldas, referee head of this modality and member of the CoSCABal PRC and will begin its in-person part next Tuesday the 22nd.

Thus, for the referees of both competitions, this week will be one of intense technical and physical work, on and off the courts, to achieve one of the most important achievements: the honor of using the IHF shield.
