Beach Handball SCA Senior World Championship Qualifier in Zagreb, Croatia. There are 3 places available in the women’s division and 2 in the men’s division.
The South Central American Beach Handball Championship will be played from Saturday, February 14 to Tuesday, February 17 at Arena La Florida / Playa La Florida in Rosario, Argentina.
The qualifying competition will count with the participation of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay; 3 tickets to the IHF Beach Handball Senior World Championship will be at stake.
In the men’s category, there will be 2 qualifying places for the teams that will compete in the SCA: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Competition system
A Round Robin will be played with semifinals (1st place vs 4th place/2nd place vs 3rd place) and finals (SF winners – 1st place/SF losers – 3rd place).
The matches shall be played in accordance with the current IHF playing rules (published on 1 January 2022). Rules of the games Beach Handball
The results of the matches will yield the following points:
- Match won = 2 points
- Match Lost = 0 points
The ranking of the positions of the participating teams will be made according to the total number of points obtained.
In the event that two or more teams have earned the same number of points after the matches have been completed, the standings will be decided as follows:
Two teams
- Olympic System
Three or more teams
- Total points earned.
- Set difference in all matches.
- Most goals/points scored in all matches.
If a tie persists between two or more teams in the group zone, it will be resolved as follows
- Result in points between the teams concerned.
- Difference of sets between the teams concerned.
- Most number of sets obtained among the remaining teams.
- Goal difference between the teams concerned.
- Most goals scored among the teams concerned.
If after applying these criteria it is still not possible to determine the order of classification of the teams, a draw will be made between the teams tied on points to decide it.
