International refereeing in the SCA Senior World Cup qualifier. The recently concluded competition in Asuncion, Paraguay was attended by the best referees of the continent and a Hungarian dupla.
International referees from South and Central America participated in the SCA Senior Championship.
The following duos were present:
Santiago Correa and Agustín Conberse (Argentina)
Julián López and Sebastián Lenci (Argentina)
Renata Garcia and Bruna Garcia (Brazil)
Mathias Sosa and Cristian Lemes (Uruguay)
Kristof Altmar and Marton Horvrth (Hungary)
As for the PCR technical delegates: Thedy Adjemian (Argentina), Esilo de Mello (Brazil) and Rolando Ferres (Uruguay). Also, Sandra Quadros (Brazil), Marcelo Moraga (Chile) and Pablo Martinez (Uruguay).

COSCABAL’s chief referee praised the work done by the referees who officiated the different matches.
“We have the best couples on the continent, we are happy because there is also a generational replacement.”
He also stated that the participation of a female couple, Bruna and Renata Garcia from Brazil, has been very positive and affirmed: “… we are not including a female couple if not by merit”.
He also highlighted the contribution of the International Handball Federation, IHF, which on this occasion sent a team from Hungary.
“We have to keep working and as I always say the growth of referees is only achieved by working.”
Growth and trajectory
Since 2022 Renata Garcia and Bruna Garcia are international referees. They have participated in 5 world championships: adult female, junior male and junior female.
“It’s the second time we are in an adult men’s championship…”Bruna said.
“We’ve been working hard to have a chance at a senior world championship…”said Renata.
Both highlighted the work that the Chief Referee, Thedy Adjemian, has been doing with the women’s teams.
