Handball SCA Senior World Cup qualifier, from Monday 19 to Saturday 24 the championship will be held at the Arena SND in the city of Asuncion.
The Men’s Tournament, which awards 4 places to the 2027 World Cup, will include the participation of the following teams: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
Competition system
Played all against all. The results of the matches will award 2 points for a won match, 1 point for each team in case of a tie and 0 for a lost match.
The classification of the positions of the participating teams will be made according to the total number of points obtained in the standings.
In the event that two or more teams have earned the same number of points, the classification will be decided as follows: result in points between the tied teams, goal difference in the matches played between the tied teams.
Also by the highest number of goals scored in the matches played between the tied teams.
If the teams maintain the tie after applying the previously mentioned criteria, it is defined as follows: goal difference considering all the matches played, and by the greater number of goals scored considering all the matches played.

The SCA Senior Men’s Handball Championship 2026 is accessed through 3 qualification routes.
A) The first is direct and is derived from the ranking obtained in the previous version held in January 2024 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

B) Qualifying Zone Phase 1 Central America, held between October 17 and 21, 2025 in Guatemala City, in the context of the Central American Games and which brought together the teams of Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama. The first classified of the area was awarded the sixth position in the entry ranking.

C) Qualification Zone Phase 1 South America developed between 2 and 6 December 2025 in the city of Lima, Peru, in the context of the Bolivarian Games and which brought together the teams of Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Dominican Republic (Guest). The best ranked team in the area was awarded the 7th position to enter the ranking, since the winner was Chile and the second Paraguay have their own ranking to enter the SCA Senior Men’s Handball Championship 2026.
