Gisella Bonomi nominated for World Games 2025 athlete of the year. Along with 29 other athletes, Bonomi, born in the province of Neuquén, Argentina has been nominated for the award in recognition of an extraordinary year.
A player Gisella Bonomi, of the Argentine Beach Handball team, is the gold medalist of the last World Games held in Chendug, China during 2025.
In addition, she is the world ambassador of beach handball and also a silver medalist of the IHF Global Tour 2025.
She has been nominated for the prestigious award “World Games Athlete of the Year 2025” awarded by the awarded by the International World Games Association (IWGA).

Is worth mentioning that Gisella Bonomi was part of the Argentine team that defeated Germany in the final in the penalty shootout and won the gold medal. Bonomi was the top scorer of the match with 16 points and opened the penalty shootout with a goal of two.
In addition to her gold medal in China, Bonomi made the All-Star Team of the women’s tournament on two occasions, as best line player and top scorer with 78 points.
International Association
The International World Games Association, IWGA is an international non-profit sports organization recognized and supported by the International Olympic Committee IOC.
IWGA is composed of 40 International Member Sport Federations and administers and promotes the World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that includes around 35 sports in its program.
The next event is scheduled for 2029 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Some 4,000 world-class athletes from more than 110 countries and regions are expected to compete in some 35 sports, including beach handball.
