The Brazilian was a key player for the Brazilian national team in the 2025 IHF Women’s World Championship, leading the team to the quarterfinals.
With resounding victories in the preliminary round and excellent performances in the main round, Bruna de Paula was named the best center back of the competition, with 29 goals in nine games.

From Brazil in Hungary
At club level, with the Győri Audi ETO KCde Paula won the EHF Champions League for the second time.
He also won gold in the 2021 European League to add to his French accolades.
The 29-year-old’s leadership propelled Brazil’s run to the quarterfinals and provided excellent highlights throughout the World Cup competition.
Bruna de Paula is the only representative from South America in the voting in the voting, which also includes Henny Ella Restad (center back) and Katrina Lunde (goalkeeper), both from Norway, in the senior women’s division.
