The semifinalists in Handball SCA U18 + IHF Trophy haven been defined. A vibrant day full of excitement on the third day of the championship.
Semifinalists defined
Argentina vs Guatemala
Argentina overcame Guatemala 47-16 to advance to the semifinals.
Team coached by Gaston Gonzalez Arias, played their best against a weak Guatemalan team that was not enough for the first half that was 21-4 in favor of the Argentines.
In the second half, Guatemala tried to get closer to the scoreboard but Argentina’s good defense blocked the Guatemalan offense.
Finally, Argentina won the match 47-16. Catalina Podesta was the MVP of the match and the top scorer with 9 goals. Guatemala’s Leidy Juarez scored 8 goals.
Brazil vs Peru. Brazilian semifinalists
Brazil’s convincing 47-16 victory over Peru, Mauricio Antonucci’s team overcame the Peruvians with no problem.
The score was 22-4 in the first half in favor of the Brazilians and in the second half they sealed the victory 47-16.
Isabella Oliveira was the top scorer with 10 goals and was also elected MVP of the match.
Brazilians finished as the best first of the 3 zones (A, B and C), reaching the semifinals where they will face Paraguay at 7:00 pm.
Chile vs Uruguay
Last match, the Chileans and Uruguayans were playing for one of the places in the World Cup. In the first half, Chile did not manage to play their game while the Uruguayans sealed a 10-15 in their favor.
Second half, Uruguay stretched the advantage on the scoreboard with a solid defense and ball possession. It was a 38-26 Uruguayan victory.
With this result Uruguay faces Argentina in the semifinals, this Thursday at 3:00 pm. The MVP of the match was Fiorella Olmos who also scored 7 goals.

It should be noted that the four teams that will play in the semifinals, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, have qualified for the World Cup to be held in 2026.
