SCA U18 Handball Championship + Women’s IHF Trophy with confirmed fixture. Asuncion, Paraguay will be the venue from November 17 to 21.
The SCA U18 Women’s Handball Handball SCA U18 Women’s national team tournament, which also features the IHF Trophy, gets underway.
The participating women’s teams from South America are: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. Central America will be represented by: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru and Venezuela.
Competition system
Below we share with you the Championship system that will be played by groups. The teams will be divided into 3 groups (A, B and C), establishing their integration by order of merit and current ranking according to the last competition in which they participated (2023).
The following points are established as configuration reserves for the groups:
- Teams from the same IHF Trophy qualification zone may not share the same group.
- The winner of the Central American zone and the winner of the South American zone may not be included in the same group.
Allocation of IHF World Cup Seats
The teams that are placed in the first 4 positions will qualify to the World Cup of the category. On the other hand, the teams that come from the Trophy Zone will qualify directly to the World Cup if they are placed in the first 4 positions.
In addition, they will compete for the available place in the Intercontinental IHF Trophy Final. If a team coming from the IHF Trophy Zone achieves one of the qualification places to the World Cup in the category in which it participates and is the highest ranked among the teams coming from the IHF Trophy Zone, it will be eligible to compete in the Intercontinental Phase of the IHF Trophy.
SCA Ranking
The same is given by the version developed in November 2023 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina:
- Brazil
- Argentina
- Chile
- Uruguay
- Guatemala (IHF Tro CA)
- Colombia (IHF Tro SA)
- Venezuela (IHF Tro SA)
- Nicaragua (IHF TRO CA)
- Paraguay (Did not participate)
The teams from the IHF Trophy Central and South America qualification zone enter with the following rankings:
C.A: 1° Guatemala, 2° Costa Rica
S.A: 1° Peru, 2° Venezuela
