Referee participation in the SCA U18 Handball Championship women´s + IHF Trophy held from 17 to 21 November in Asuncion, Paraguay.
The participation of the refereeing team in the SCA U18 Women’s Handball Championship + IHF Trophy, held in Asunción from November 17 to 21, represented a significant step towards strengthening youth handball in the region.
During five days of intense competition, the designated referees demonstrated a high level of professionalism, commitment and technical preparation, guaranteeing the development of the tournament within a framework of respect, equity and fair play.
The referees faced very demanding matches, typical of a tournament that brings together the best teams of the continent with international projection.
Participating pairs
Francisco Cistriano and Nicolás Carrizo of Argentina, Lucas Dezembro and Guilherme Gonçalves of Brazil, Matías Solis and Diego Barros of Chile.
Mathias Galeano and Derlis Medina of Paraguay and Geermán Araujo and Nicolás Perdomo of Uruguay.
Despite the challenges, the performance was consistent and aligned with the criteria established by the IHF, contributing to a competitive and formative environment for the players.
In addition to their work on the field, the referee teams participated in post-match feedback and analysis, which allowed them to strengthen their skills, improve their unified criteria and consolidate their learning for future competitions.
Participating delegates
The delegates working on the championship were Federico Bacalini from Argentina, Sandra Quadros from Brazil, Marcelo Moraga from Chile and Valentina Lenzue from Uruguay.
Esilo de Mello of Brazil and Rolando Ferrés of Uruguay were also present as officials.
The presence of young and growing COSCABAL referees in Asunción not only ensured the proper conduct of the championship.
But also fosters an inspiring message for future generations, building refereeing as a space for development, responsibility and opportunities within handball.
