Preliminary phase completed at the U17 World Cup being held in the city of Casablanca, Morocco.
Confirmed semifinalists
Germany will play one of the semifinals against Qatar, while Spain will face Egypt in the other semifinal.
The Egyptians closed the group A table with 6 points in first place, while the Spaniards did the same in zone B with 6 points.
Qatar finished second in Group B with 4 points and was the best runner-up with 12 goals scored.
In Group C, the Germans topped the standings with 6 points.
Positions from 5-8
Argentina will face the United States and Brazil will play against Tunisia, both South American teams will be looking for the highest ranking in the World Championship of the category.
Argentina’s preliminary round
In Group C Argentina won its first match against Puerto Rico 43-25, the scorer of the match was Agustín Refojos with 7 goals and he was also elected the MVP of the match.

In the second game the Albiceleste overcame Iran 38-29, the scorer of the game was Lautaro Roa with 8 goals and was also elected MVP. Nicolás La Delfa also scored 8 goals.
At the end of the group stage, Argentina lost to Germany 44-22.
Despite finishing second in their zone, the goal difference was not enough for them to reach the semifinals.
Brazil closed the first stage
In Group A, Brazil began with a 35-26 loss to Egypt. Then they won an important victory against the local team, Morocco by 45-38.
The top scorer of the match was Eduardo Henrique with 8 goals, while the MVP was Andrey Pereira.
Finally, Brazil defeated the United States 37-28 and thus won two victories and one defeat.
The scorer of the match against the Americans was Rodrigo Rodrigues with 9 goals, who was also voted MVP of the match.
