The SCA U15 and U16 Handball Championship started in Asuncion, Paraguay. In the women’s competition there will be 2 qualifying slots for the 2026 World Cup.
The finalist teams of the U-15 women’s competition will obtain their qualification tickets to the next World Cup of the category.
First day
During the first day, both Brazilian teams won against the Peruvian teams.
In the men’s game, Brazil defeated Peru 38-19, Arthur Basilo was the scorer of the game with 7 goals.
In the women’s division, the team coached by Viomario Da Silva defeated the Peruvian team 35-16. The scorer of the match was Rafaella Damaceno with 7 goals.

The Uruguayan women’s team tied with Chile 23-23, the players who scored the most goals were Isabella Leita of the Uruguayan team with 5 goals and Agustina Menendez of Chile with 7 goals.
Meanwhile, Paraguay A defeated Uruguay in the men’s division by 29-25. Lucas Laviosa was the top scorer of the game with 10 goals.
In the closing match, Chile beat Paraguay B 34-11 in the men’s team, with Esteban Aravena, Vicente Carvajal and Michael Eiberger scoring 6 goals each.
The selections of Paraguay A and B women faced each other at the COP Arena, the victory was for the teams coached by Nery Vera 37-30, with this result Paraguay A added 2 points in the standings.
The top scorer of the game was Mayari Ramirez with 11 goals scored.
