Fixture defined for Asunción 2025. The II Junior Pan American Games will be held in the Paraguayan capital from August 9 to 23.
The sports festival of the Americas will be held in Asunción, Paraguay, a place that has been consolidating its position in recent years as a venue for major sporting events.
In 2022, it hosted the South American Games and this time the II Pan American Junior Games will take center stage. With 2 main venues: the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP) and the National Sports Secretariat (SND).
In addition, there will be 4 independent venues and two sub venues, all this infrastructure will become the stage for 28 sports and 42 disciplines.
Participants
Handball will be played at the SND stadium, and the women’s competition will be held from August 10 to 15. The teams participating for the Confederation of South and Central America (COSCABAL) Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay (host) and Uruguay (playoff).

In the men’s division, the tournament will be played from August 17 to 22. For COSCABAL will participate. Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay (host) and Chile (playoff).

Competition format
There will be a preliminary round where 2 groups, A and B, will be formed. At the end of the group phase, the first two teams of each series will qualify for the semifinal rounds.
The losing teams of the semifinal round will play the final round for third and fourth place (bronze medal). The winning teams of the semifinal round will play the final round for first and second place (gold and silver medals).
The teams ranked third and fourth in each series will play a qualifying round. The winners will play for fifth and sixth place in the competition, and the losers for seventh and eighth place.
Qualification to Lima 2027
The highlight of ASU 2025 is that there will be 216 qualifiers to the next Pan American Games Lima 2027. There are 200 individual quotas and 16 places in team sports, with Handball playing for that classification.
