Argentina and Brazil at the World Beach Games. From August 7 to 17, the 12th edition will be held in the city of Chengdu, China.
The Beach Handball competition will take place from Thursday 07 to August 12. The women’s national team of Argentina and the men’s national team of Brazil are the representatives of South America.
Groups
In ladies, group A is made up of Germany, Spain, Denmark and Vietnam. For group B ArgentinaPortugal, Croatia and China.
In the men’s competition, group A is made up of Portugal, BrazilCroatia and Germany, while in Group B are China, Tunisia, Denmark and Spain.
Preliminary phase
This Thursday 07 Argentina faces Portugal, on Friday plays against Croatia and on Saturday closes the group stage against China. In the men’s division, Brazil plays Portugal in the first match this Thursday, on Friday against Croatia and concludes the preliminary phase against Germany.
The event brings together all sports and disciplines that are not part of the Olympic Games program.
It should be noted that the Argentine team won a silver medal in Wroclaw 2017 and a bronze medal in the last edition in Birmingham 2022.
Meanwhile, Brazil holds two gold medals obtained in Cali 2013 and Wroclaw 2017, and also won a bronze medal in the last edition in Birmingham 2022.
Players called up
The Argentine players who are part of the national team are: Constanza Suarez, Fiorella Corimberto, Florencia Gallo, Agostina Arcajo, Gisella Bonomi, Zoe Turnes, Lucila Balsas, Luciana Scordamaglia, Giuliana Gamba and Alma Molina. The technical staff is composed of Leticia Brunati (coach); Celeste Meccia (technical assistant); and Andrés Etienne (kinesiologist).

Brazil’s national team is composed of: Cristino Seben Rossa, André Luiz Simões de Oliveira, Hugo Fernandez da Silva, Gustavo Morais Pereira, Nailson de Sousa do Amaral, Bruno Carlos de Oliveira, Raí Santos, Marcelo Tuller, Renan Pinheiro Carvalho, Pedro Costa Maia da Silva. The technical committee is made up of Erick Marques (coordinator), Antônio Guerra Peixe (coach), Thiago William Almeida (technical assistant) and Marbsan Natanael (physiotherapist).

Referees
The Brazilian refereeing duo of Lucas Brasil and Wictor Santos will be officiating for the first time in the international competition. The head referee of COSCABAL, Luiz Filipe Caldas, will also be part of the competition.
