Referee and delegate camp

Referee and delegate camp during the handball championship held in Guatemala from July 9 to 13.

While the competition was taking place, the Central Zone Camp for Referees and Technical Delegates also took place, where different activities such as written and practical evaluations were carried out, as well as the physical test for each refereeing team.

In addition, daily meetings were held to analyze the matches played under the guidelines established by the Chief Referee of the PRC COSCABAL, Thedy Adjemian.

Work was done on the profile of referees and delegates promoted by COSCABAL to reach a level of excellence in the region and advance to the elite of the SCA tournaments.

Participants

Five refereeing teams from four countries in the region were present: Aysling Navarro and Monica Navarro from Costa Rica, Julio Blanco and Alex Baltazar from Guatemala, Anthony Gonzalez and Estiff Aldi from Guatemala.

Branli Bonilla and Omni Villanueva from Honduras and Anthony Vega and José Salas from Nicaragua.

The Technical Delegates represented five countries, two from the region and two from the south: Luis Barrantes and Efrain Vargas from Costa Rica and Sergio Urrutia from Guatemala.

Also, from El Salvador were Luis González and Javier Jirón for Nicaragua and finally Sergio Pagoaga from Honduras.

Pablo Martinez from Uruguay was in charge of the camp together with Sandra Quadros from Brazil, both are technical delegates.

Martinez was also the Tournament Director and expressed the great work that was developed, thinking about the preparation of new refereeing teams and delegates for the SCA of Asuncion 2025.

“The level of referees and delegates is growing in Central America and that is very important for the development of our sport in the region”, closed Pablo Martinez.
