The IHF launches an advanced program for the development of international referees. The duo of Renata Correa and Bruna Correa from Brazil will be present at the first sessions of the ARTP.
The International Handball Federation (IHF) officially presented the Advanced Referee Training Program (ARTP), aimed at raising the level of refereeing on a global scale.
Objectives
This initiative focuses on elite referees and young talents, offering a complete training experience in European countries for at least 14 days.
The program includes match management in first or second division leagues, theoretical training, technical analysis and personalized mentoring.
Participants will receive guidance from instructors appointed by the Playing Rules and Referees Commission (PRC), or experienced international referees, selected by its chairman, Per Morten Sødal, and coordinated directly with him.
Participants
Five national federations and the EHF have already shown interest in the program. The first two sessions will take place at the Women’s Under-17 and Under-19 European Championships in Montenegro. Another five sessions are planned for the European autumn.
The first sessions will be attended by referees from Tunisia and the Brazilian duo of Bruna Correa and Renata Correa .
Thedy Adjemian, COSCABAL Chief Referee and IHF Official said:
“It is a project we have been working on with the IHF to give European and higher level competition to referees from other continents.”
“The IHF trusted the work that has been going on with the COSCABAL referees and nominated Bruna and Renata.”

“We have to continue working and providing them with the tools in internal competitions so that they can perform in the way we demand and want for our referees.”
He concluded by saying that this is a very good initiative, a unique opportunity to whistle in Europe.
