Teams defined for the Quarterfinals of the SCA of Clubs

The last date of the group stage has been played and we already have defined teams for the Quarterfinals of the SCA of Clubs.

Below is a summary of day 3:

Pilar vs Dorrego (29-46)

A match that started evenly and went goal for goal, but after 10 minutes of play, the Paraguayan team made many mistakes in its offense.

In this way, Rubén Busolin’s team was able to take advantage of the counter-attack and begin to make a big difference on the scoreboard.

Dorrego won 46-29 and got the ticket to the quarterfinals. Tobías Ferreyra was the MVP and top scorer with 12 goals.

University vs Kutral (33-23)

The teams played a very intense match. In the first half Universitario was able to take a small advantage over the locals and go to the break 14 to 10.

In the second half, the Argentines were strong in defense, which allowed them to dominate the game.

Universitario won its first victory of the tournament 33-23. In addition, their player, Martín Fernández was chosen as the best player of the match and was the scorer with 10 goals.

MET vs Ovalle (19-19)

The National Stadium hosted a match full of emotions, where both teams were looking for their first victory in the competition.

MET took advantage of its rival’s offensive mistakes and turnovers to go to the locker room leading 10-8.

In the second half the parity continued, but with Ovalle dominating the scoreboard. In the last 10 seconds of the game, Maximiliano Cabrera from MET tied the game at 19.

German School vs PinheirosI(22-40)

Pinheiros dominated the match against Colegio Alemán. The Uruguayans were at the height of the game but could not overcome the supremacy of the last champion.

The team led by Alex Aprile won 40-22 and is one of the teams that qualified for the quarterfinals.

L. N. Maipu vs San Fernando (22-30)

The first minutes of the match were very tight. With 10 minutes left before halftime Maipu started to make mistakes in their attack in a row. This allowed San Fernando to take the lead 17-12.

In the second half, the Argentine team worked on its defense and did not allow the locals to get close to the scoreboard.

San Fernando won 30-22 and qualified for the quarterfinals. Agustín Cesio was the top scorer with 6 goals and the MVP of the match.

Partile Club vs USAB (13-37)

In a great game with their fans supporting them from the stands, USAB managed to beat Partille Club 37-13.

The local team was able to impose its game and thus qualify for the quarterfinals. USAB’s Rodrigo Aedo was the scorer with 7 goals.

FMO/Portuguese vs Nacional (34-26)

In the Brazilian duel, the teams were playing for the first place in group B.

The start was even, but as the minutes passed FMO/Portuguese strengthened their defense, complicating their opponent’s offense.

The team led by Marcus de Oliveira started the second half with a four-goal lead, which they extended and won the game 34-26. Julián Cueto was the MVP of the game and one of the scorers with 6 goals.

Taubaté vs Ward College (32-21)

At the end of the day, Taubaté and Ward College competed for the first place in their group.

In a very tight match, Ward College was able to find the spaces in the rival defense and hurt with their penetrations. The Argentine team closed a partial won by the minimum 15-14.

In the last 30 minutes of play, Taubaté deployed all its offensive power, managing to dominate the game. They finally won 32 to 21 and took first place in Group A.
