Uruguay qualified for Asu 2025!

The Uruguayan national team qualified to Asu 2025. This Friday and Saturday the playoff championship for the II Junior Pan American Games was played. The “charrúas” were strong at home in La Florida at the 10 de julio stadium.

Two matches were played to determine who would win the ticket to Asuncion. The first match of the first day was a victory for Uruguay, after closing the first half 13-8, the Charrúas showed their power in attack and defeated Venezuela with authority 30-16.

Uruguay’s Emilia Esteves was named MVP of the match with 7 goals. In Venezuela, Luisyeri Hernández scored 5 goals.

In the second game, the Uruguayan team once again prevailed and won 37-15 against its Venezuelan counterpart.

Uruguayan player Pía Batista scored 6 goals and was the MVP of the game. For the Venezuelan team, Yeleidy Parra and Yonaiverlyn Pacheco scored 4 goals each.

Qualifiers for Asunción 2025

After the completion of the Junior Women’s playoff championship in which Uruguay won the available place; The qualified teams for the II Pan American Games Asu 2025 of the Confederation of South and Central America are: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay (host) and Uruguay (playoff): Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay (host) and Uruguay (playoff).

Meanwhile, for the North American and Caribbean Handball Confederation, the qualified teams are: United States of North America, Cuba and Mexico.

In the men’s division, the COSCABAL qualifiers are: Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay (host) and Chile (playoff).

Also classified by NACHC are: United States of America, Mexico and Cuba.
