Fifth place for Paraguay in the Men’s Emerging Nations. The championship was held from March 11 to 16 in the city of Varna, Bulgaria.
On this occasion, the fifth edition of the tournament was held with the participation of: Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Cyprus, United States, Great Britain, Nigeria, Paraguay and Republic of Moldova.
The Paraguayan team had three wins and two losses, finishing in fifth place in the competition.

In the definition of the championship, the team led by Victor Figueredo Trigo defeated Azerbaijan 34-22. The team was solid in all its lines and with outstanding individual performances.
Mathias Rojas was elected the MVP of the game, while Jorge Rojas Gutiérrez was the top scorer with 8 goals.

The Paraguayan national team also defeated Cyprus 37-28 in its last match and for the second time in the tournament. The Paraguayans played a fast game that left them in fifth place in the ranking.
The scorers with 8 goals each were: Jorge Rojas Gutiérrez and Santiago Talavera Ortíz, the latter was also elected MVP of the match.
