Coscabal relaunches the Open Championships with the first version of the SCA Beach Handball Open, and your organization can be the next host or participant of these competitions that aim to promote the practice, dissemination and development of the discipline.
With a competition focused on opening participation to any team, the Open Beach Handball SCA will hold a renewed version this 2025, and Coscabal opens the applications to organize tournaments, and be part of the first continental appointment of Beach Handball teams, which will end in the final phase to be held from April 7 in the city of Iquique, Chile. If you want to participate in this new tournament circuit, you can organize a tournament meeting certain minimum requirements to be qualified as Open, and thus obtain two slots for the final phase of the tournament. It should be noted that the organizer of each competition obtains direct qualification to the Open Beach Handball SCA Iquique 2025, while the champion of each event will also obtain a place in that competition.One of the requirements is to have four or more teams per branch, and one of these must be a team from a country other than that of the organizer.
In addition, for your tournament to be categorized as Open, it must also consider -at least- the participation of a Coscabal supervisor, who will act as supervisor of the competition. The deadline to organize your championship, and validate the qualifiers to Iquique 2025, will be February 24 of this year. To request validation, you must submit your tournament to oper@handballsca.tv and inform your National Federation about your competition.

In order to promote development, and also to consider the countries that have contributed to the growth of this discipline, Coscabal will provide invitations to the champions of leagues established by the National Federations, which must also meet certain minimum requirements.

Marcel Mancilla, President of the Confederation of South and Central American Handball, assured that “We are convinced from COSCABAL that the continent needs all the countries that make it up to be encouraged to bet on this sport discipline. From Puerto Madryn, in Argentina in 2022, we have hoped to continue with this more open model that better reflects the possibilities of development and the reality of the discipline. Growth comes hand in hand with teamwork, and for that we are taking a very important step with this type of competitions such as the Open that aims to play more by supporting the current culturists of the discipline.
