From January 14 to February 2, the Men’s Handball World Championship will be held in Croatia, Denmark and Norway.
This will be the 29th edition of the competition, which will have five venues where the best teams in the world will compete. The South American representatives are: Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
Groups and Fixture
- Argentina is in Group H along with Egypt, Croatia and Bahrain.
- Brazil is in Group E with Norway, Portugal and the United States.
- Chile is in Group F along with Spain, Sweden and Japan.
Headquarters
The venues are the cities of Herning, Oslo, Zagreb, Varazdin and Poreč. Brazil and Chile will play their games in Oslo, Norway at the Unity Arena, while the Argentineans will play in the city of Zagreb, Croatia at the Arena Zagreb.
Preparation
Brazil completed the last weeks of 2024 with intense training at Clube Pinheiros in Sao Paulo in preparation for the World Cup. The Brazilians make their debut on Wednesday, January 15 against Norway.
Meanwhile, Chile’s national team coach Aitor Etxaburu made a pre-nomination of players in the last week of 2024 for the preparatory tour with the goal of the World Cup. The Chileans will play their first main round match on Thursday, January 16 against Spain.
In addition, Argentina kept the renewed squad active since the beginning of December with training sessions in the city of Buenos Aires. Before the Christmas holidays they left for Spain where they met with the rest of the team and settled in Doha, Qatar where they played two Test Matches, the tour continues in Spain. Argentina will play its first match in the World Cup on January 15 against Egypt.
