Brazil with confirmed players continues to prepare to shine in the world championship. The selection of Brazil, Argentina and Chile are part of the 29th edition of the Men’s Handball Championship to be played in Croatia/Denmark/Norway 2025.
The Brazilian national team led by Marcus Tatá is in Group E along with Norway, Portugal and the United States. The Brazilians will be looking to improve their position from the last World Cup in Poland/Sweden 2023, where they finished 17th.
Confirmed list for the World Cup
Tarcísio Freitas, Denys Alessandro Barros and Acacio Filho Marques center backs; Bryan Monte, Leandro Alves, Thiagus Petrus and Haniel Langaro left backs; Vinicios Angelo and Gustavo Rodrigues right backs, Marcos Antonio and Rudolph Hackbarth right wingers; Jean Pierre and Joel Fellipe left wingers, Guilherme Borges, Renan Iziquiel and Edney Silva pivots, Mateus Crisitan Buda and Rangel Luan goalkeepers. Technical committee: Marcus Tatá coach, André Vinícius, Alberto Neto and João Paulo technical assistants, Alí Alkhedher goalkeeping coach, Cláudio Machado physical trainer, Rodrigo Reiff doctor, Daniel Santos physiotherapist, Raísa Hoffmann psychologist, Rudney Uezu supervisor and Ugor Tadeu head of delegation.
The Brazilian team will start the main round against Norway on Wednesday, January 15 at 4:30 p.m., on Friday, January 17 against Portugal at 2:00 p.m. and will close against the United States at the same time on Sunday, January 19 (Brazilian time).
Headquarters
The venues are the cities of Herning, Oslo, Zagreb, Varazdin and Poreč. Brazil and Chile will play their games in Oslo, Norway at the Unity Arena, while the Argentineans will play in the city of Zagreb, Croatia at the Arena Zagreb.
History
It should be noted that Brazil has been participating in World Cups since 1958, and this edition will be the 16th consecutive World Cup. The best ranking was obtained in the last edition of Poland/Sweden when it finished 17th. Haniel Langaro said that after some time the team has been reunited, “The expectations for the World Cup are to improve, we are in a very difficult group with Norway, Portugal and the United States”.
“We are preparing in the best possible way, we have already played with some of them, we have analyzed videos, so we have some knowledge. We want to get there and leave Brazil in the best possible position”.
