Brazil qualified for the quarterfinals!

The Brazilian national team qualified for the quarterfinals of the World Cup to be held in Croatia, Denmark and Norway2025. They beat Sweden 27-24 and for the first time the Brazilians are among the eight best teams in the world.

A fiery Brazil defeated with authority the powerful Sweden, four-time world championsfour-time world champion and four-time Olympic runner-up.

First half

With an excellent first half, Brazil opened the scoring and the goalkeeper, Rangel Da Rosa blocked a penalty shot from 7 meters. As the minutes went by, Haniel Langaro and Bryan Monte scored for the green and yellow team. The Brazilians played a tight defense and their goalkeeper was key to leave the scoreboard in favor of Brazil with a 14-9 partial.

Exciting second half

In the second half, Sweden was in charge of scoring in the beginning while Brazil wasted two chances in attack. The team led by Marcus Tata dominated most of the game and remained on top of the scoreboard. Little by little the Brazilians extended their lead.

Brazil put up a solid defense and an effective counterattack. This, added to the great performance of the goalkeeper, Rangel Da Rosa, who had about 20 defenses with a 47% of effectiveness and was elected MV of the match.

The scorers for Brazil were Haniel Langaro and Bryan Monte with 4 goals each. It was a 27-24 Brazilian victory.

Qualification to the quarterfinals

Brazil overcame Sweden and qualified for the quarterfinals. It is the first time that the Brazilian team has been among the top eight teams in the World Cup.

In Group III, Brazil will reach the quarterfinals early, next Sunday they will close against Spain from 2:00 p.m. onwards.

Other results

In Group III, Chile lost to Norway 22-39. The Chilean scorer was Erwin Feutchmann with 6 goals. On Sunday, January 26, Chile will close the phase against Portugal (qualified to the quarterfinals) at 11:30 am.

Meanwhile, Argentina won 30-26 against Cape Verde in Group IV. Goalkeeper Leonel Maciel was elected MVP of the match, and on Sunday they will face Iceland to close the phase at 11:30 a.m.
